Getting started with Sparkle is simple. Follow these steps to transform how you organize files on your Mac:
Step 1: Download Sparkle for Mac
Visit sparkle.app and click "Download for Mac"
Install the application by dragging it to your Applications folder
Launch Sparkle from your Applications or Launchpad
Step 2: Create your account
When you first open Sparkle, you'll be prompted to sign in
Enter your email address - we'll send you a magic link (no password needed!)
Check your email and click the verification link
You'll be redirected back to Sparkle
Step 3: Set up file access permissions
When you first open Sparkle, macOS will ask for permissions:
File access: Allow Sparkle to access your files so it can organize them
Folder selection: Choose which folders you want organized (start with Downloads and Desktop)
Sparkle needs Full Disk Access to read and organize your files. Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access and toggle Sparkle on. This lets Sparkle see your folders and move files around, but it never reads file contents, only file names.

You're ready! Sparkle is now monitoring your selected folders and will begin organizing new files automatically.
