Organization frequency
By default, Sparkle checks once a day. You can change this to check more or less frequently—every few hours, once a week, or whatever best suits your workflow.
Click “Customize timing” to choose the exact time of day you want Sparkle to run.
Recents duration
This controls how long files stay in your Recents folder before being organized. When new files are found, they are moved to Recents for quick access. After the set number of days, they automatically move to your AI Library, where they are organized into appropriate folders. The default is 3 days.
Set it shorter if you want files organized more quickly, or longer if you prefer to keep recent downloads close at hand.
Duplicate detection
Turn this on to have Sparkle automatically find and flag duplicate files. You decide what to keep or remove—Sparkle simply surfaces duplicates for review.
Launch at login
Enable this so Sparkle starts automatically when you turn on your Mac. Your files stay organized without requiring you to open the app manually.
Keyboard shortcuts
Replace Spotlight — Want to use Sparkle Search instead of macOS Spotlight? Click Setup Guide to configure it.
Sparkle Search Overlay — Open Sparkle Search instantly from anywhere with a global keyboard shortcut. The default is ⌥⌘Space (Option + Command + Space).
Current support notes
Sparkle requires macOS 14 or later.
Sparkle can read file content to help organize files more accurately.
Cleanup is currently supported only for local iCloud Drive folders and local Google Drive folders that are synced to your Mac. Sparkle does not organize cloud-only folders or other cloud folders at this time.
