Why Your Dictionary Matters
Out of the box, Monologue knows millions of words—but it doesn't know your coworker Sarah's last name, your company's product names, or that industry acronym you use twenty times a day. That's where your personal dictionary comes in.
Think of it as training Monologue to speak your unique language.
Adding Words Manually
Here’s how you can tech Monologue new words that get added to your dictionary
Open Dashboard → "Dictionary" tab
Enter the word or phrase
Click "Add "
Types of Words to Add
Store correct spellings, names, company terms, acronyms, tools, and common phrases (e.g., “Naveen” “Monologue — never autocorrect to monolog,” “HVAC — H-V-A-C,” “PostgreSQL — post-gres-Q-L”).
Import Dictionary
Switching from another dictation app? Bring your vocabulary with you in seconds.
Go to Dashboard → "Dictionary" → "Import"
Select your previous app from the dropdown (Aqua, Wisprflow, etc.)
Click "Import" — Monologue automatically finds and imports your custom words
All your names, technical terms, and custom vocabulary are now ready to use.
