Setting up a Writing Style

  1. Go to Writing Styles in your dashboard

  2. Click Create New Writing Style

  3. Upload at least 3 pieces of writing you're proud of (you can upload files or paste raw text)

  4. Or connect your Twitter or LinkedIn account to pull examples automatically

  5. Click Set up writing style to analyze the patterns

Spiral will analyze:

  • Your sentence rhythm and length

  • How you structure arguments

  • Words and phrases you favor

  • Your opening and closing patterns

  • Tone and formality level

Types of Writing Styles you can create

  • Personal Voice β€” Your own writing across contexts. Use your best emails, blog posts, or articles as examples.

  • Brand Voice β€” Keep company or project writing consistent. Upload brand guidelines or approved marketing copy.

  • Emulation β€” Write like someone you admire. Use published articles by that writer as examples.

Using Writing Styles

When starting a new writing session, select which Writing Style to use from the dropdown. All drafts Spiral generates will match that style.

Pro tip: Create separate Writing Styles for different contexts (professional, casual, technical) rather than one that tries to cover everything. Specificity produces better results.
