Overview
Cora can automatically generate draft email responses for messages that need a reply. These drafts appear in your Gmail as ready-to-review responses you can edit and send.
You can control how drafts work, or turn them off entirely, from your Draft Settings page.
Accessing Draft Settings
Go to app.cora.computer/draft_settings to manage your drafting preferences.
Settings
Auto-draft Responses (on/off)
Toggle this to control whether Cora automatically generates draft responses for incoming emails. When turned off, Cora will still categorize and brief your emails but won't create any drafts in Gmail.
Draft Mode
Single draft — Cora generates one draft response per email. This is the simpler option.
Multiple drafts — Cora generates several draft options for you to choose from in the Cora interface. Use this if you want to pick from different tones or approaches before sending.
Email Signature
Set your email signature here and Cora will append it to all auto-drafted responses.
Important: How to use drafts safely
When Cora creates a draft on an email thread, that draft lives in your Gmail. If you click Reply in Gmail on the same thread, Gmail may open Cora's existing draft instead of a blank compose window.
To avoid accidentally sending draft text:
Review drafts in Cora first — select and edit the draft you want through the Cora interface before sending.
Check before sending in Gmail — if you reply directly in Gmail, scroll down to make sure there's no extra draft text below your signature or the quoted message.
Switch to Single mode — if you use Multiple mode, unselected alternatives may appear in the draft body. Single mode avoids this.
Disable drafts — if you prefer to write all replies yourself, turn off Auto-draft Responses entirely.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why did draft text appear in an email I sent?
This can happen when you reply directly in Gmail to a thread where Cora has already created a draft. Gmail opens the existing draft, and if you type your own reply at the top without removing the draft text below, both get sent together. To prevent this, review drafts through Cora or check your compose window before sending.
Can I use Cora without drafts?
Yes. Turn off Auto-draft Responses in your draft settings. Cora will continue to categorize your emails, apply labels, and include them in your briefs, but won't create any drafts.
